A look inside

Nice day here in Charlotte. I took a look inside the hive today. Both queens are out of the cage- I did not see the queen but I assume they are in the hive. The bees are drawing comb and continue to eat from the feeder. They looked good - but what do I know...I have lost a few hives. happy Easter and rember jesus loves you.

Beekeepers Again

Karen and I are beekeepers once again. The packages have been installed. Derek and I were impressed at the size of the Brusy Mtn operation - at least five large building. Today they sold 600 packages of honey bees and the retail store was packed. During our drive, Derek and I joked about how it would be much cheaper to give people money and just purchase store honey. The bees and blog return

The blog is back

The new bees will arrive on Saturday. Derek Davis and I are making the trip to Brushy Mountain Bee Farm to pick up our packages of bees. Derek and I know each other from cycling and church - his bees died over the summer. In addition to picking up a package of bees for myself; Karen is going to have a hive. Thus we will be a two hive family. Stayed tuned for the adventures that year three brings.
